BBB EXPELS TWO FIRMS
ACCREDITATION FOR VIOLATIONS
St. Louis, Mo., December 18, 2008 - The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has revoked the accreditation of Shinn Diggers, 1127 Schilling Ave., Belleville, Ill., and Riverton Music Studios LLC, PO Box 510291, St. Louis, for violations of the BBB’s Accreditation Agreement.
The BBB's Executive Committee took these actions on Dec. 17, 2008, at the recommendation of its Ethics Committee.
Shinn Diggers was notified on numerous occasions between June 18, 2008, and Nov. 26, 2008, regarding two customer complaints. The firm failed to respond to these complaints.
Riverton Music Studios LLC was notified on numerous occasions between Sept. 15, 2008, and Nov. 26, 2008, regarding numerous customer complaints. The firm failed to respond to these complaints.
BBB accredited businesses are required to respond to customer complaints. Failure to do so is considered prejudicial to the best interests of the BBB and private enterprise.
According to the BBB and its Board of Directors, BBB Standards of Accreditation are designed to offer consumers confidence before they make purchasing decisions. Expulsion from accreditation status is unfortunate; however, enforcing accreditation standards is taken very seriously. These standards also are applied to new applicants that can be denied accreditation if not in compliance.
No representative of Shinn Diggers or Riverton Music Studios LLC attended the December 17, 2008, hearing before the Ethics Committee.
Consumers are urged to contact the BBB at (314) 645-3300 or www.stlouisbbb.org for a firm's customer experience record or charity report before doing business.
